Confusing Verbs

Here's a worksheet for your upper-intermediate classes to compare verbs that are confused a lot in English. What's the difference between lay and lie? Which one is an irregular verb and which one is a regular verb? Which one takes an object? These are some of the questions displayed in a comparison chart style in this worksheet. There are five common verbs given in the worksheet. However, you may add your own list or ask your students to find out more confusing verbs. There's also a blank chart given in the PDF set for you to extend the worksheet. The answer key is included for your convenience.

The confusing verbs which are given in the worksheet are lay-lie, arouse-arise, raise-rise, wind-wound, fall-fell.
