Here’s a worksheet to consolidate past simple tense in elementary level of English. It covers main forms in both regular and irregular verbs.
Consolidate both regular and irregular verbs in past simple tense
Where does it fit in an ESL lesson?
It fits best in right after the completion of grammar presentation of past simple tense. It should follow the lesson when all forms are presented. The answers cover affirmative, negative and question forms. The past simple forms of “to be” are not included in this worksheet.
I strongly advise you to use the A and B versions of the copy, which will increase classroom interaction dramatically.
