Here's a reading text to teach or revise narrative tenses in use. It's a reading text about a group of friends who went to the new modern art museum in the city centre together. It shows the different uses of past perfect, past continuous, and past simple in context. It's followed by a set of true/false questions to check the meaning of them as well.

Before or after answering the comprehension questions, you can ask your students to underline past perfect, past continuous, and past simple tense in the text to make them focus on the narrative tenses.
