Confusing Verbs

Here's a worksheet for your upper-intermediate classes to compare verbs that are confused a lot in English. What's the difference between lay and lie? Which one is an irregular verb and which one is a regular verb? Which one takes an object? These are some of the questions displayed in a comparison chart style in this worksheet. There are five common verbs given in the worksheet. You may also hand out the confusing verbs template and ask your students to find out and add more confusing verbs. You can check your answer with the QR code answer key.

The confusing verbs which are given in the worksheet are lay-lie, arouse-arise, raise-rise, wind-wound, fall-fell.
